But how many of us are aware that it is not always overtly continued but most often insidiously encouraged across the generations? From early segregation to redlining community demographics and even down to the criteria for getting qualified for a mortgage; all have roots in a racism that is uniquely American. As a nation we need to do better and we can… but it is only by recognizing these design flaws, calling them out and forging ahead with equality as the driving force.
