Description

Cyndi Silverman and ADL-Anti-Defamation League. Cyndi has been working in the community and is the Regional Director for the Santa Barbara Tri-Counties Region. The ADL works nationally and internationally, combating all forms of hatred and bigotry by investigating and exposing extremism, protecting as well as advocating for civil rights and religious freedom, educating on how to promote diversity and respect through programs, resources and by fostering interfaith relations. They handle victim complaints of all forms of discrimination.

In the 90’s Ms. Silverman worked for the United States Agency for International Development, West Bank/Gaza Mission, a branch of the US Embassy in Israel. In her capacity in the Executive Office of USAID, she organized numerous congressional visits within Israel and the West Bank, in addition to working on Secretary of State Visits. She participated in meetings with high level Israeli officials.

Cyndi received the ADL Senn/Greenberg Award for Professional Excellence. She also worked as the Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Victoria and Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Cyndi and her late husband Dr. Julian Silverman worked with hospitals, clinics, investment banking companies and small privately owned business. She lived at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur in the 70’s and was able to study with innovative thinkers in the Human Potential Movement!
