Description

Mariela Marin, MFT. Mariela currently serves as the Executive Director of Community Counseling Education Center (CCEC), which allows her the opportunity to work not only with the community but also with talented trainees and interns. She is caring for the well-being of the Santa Barbara community one phone call, client, trainee, associate, supervisor, Center supporter, and human at a time. She was also previously the Director of Counseling and Recovery Services at Pacific Pride Foundation.

Mariela has worked with other area non-profits serving abused and neglected children and the LGBTQ community since 2001. She was raised by her Mexican father and Spanish mother who taught her the importance of love, being true, and building community.

She earned her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and returned to her alma mater to serve as adjunct faculty in 2006. Mariela’s strong interest is in the area of multicultural competence and she is dedicated to combating power, oppression and privilege through the empowerment of her clients and students.
