She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center's Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (UTSW), and formerly served as the Psychological Services Manager for Inpatient Psychiatry at Children's Medical Center of Dallas (CMCD).
