2020 The year of the Black woman. The year she shows OUT! She is tragically positioned between the murders of two Black men and causes the world to #SAYHERNAME. She leads an entire Southern state to the polls in numbers unheard of, leading more voters to elect the current president-elect than those who voted for America's first black president. She mounts the stage in an all white pant suit to say to all of those who were counting her out, shhh "I'm speaking!"
It is inescapable the simultaneous joy and terror that Black women have lived in. And now it is time we celebrate the weight that we've carried and heal our minds, bodies, and souls.
