Jason opens with a promise to keep a more positive tone, then shares a lesson a colleague helped him name: the false sense of security that comes from a system implemented only part of the way. He shows how a CPM schedule built at the activity level, a pull plan with no tie to procurement or zones, or a Takt plan that was never checked for buffers and leveling can all leave a team feeling safe while the project drifts toward a crash landing. Using a surveying example, where a traverse closed with excellent accuracy but was still off when overlaid on the given coordinates, he makes the case for finishing the last 5% of every effort and checking the work all the way down.
What you'll learn in this episode:
Which of your systems have you checked off as done, and what would you find if you dug the last 5% deeper?
