Description

Jason explains what a roadblock tracking map is and why he considers it essential to running a Takt plan. He shares how a team at DPR on the Banner Good Samaritan campus kept every zone and room in Bluebeam, color-coded by wagon, and updated the status as work moved through. With that picture, the team could see where each trade was, how fast they were moving, the distance between trades, and where roadblocks sat relative to the work. He describes how the map supports daily and weekly meetings, and how it helps when an area or boxcar has to come out of the train. He also reads a great note from a 26-year-old lead superintendent whose trade partners prefer Takt to CPM.

What you'll learn in this episode:

Looking at your project today, could you point to where each trade is, how far apart they are, and where the next roadblock sits?
