Description

Jason continues his reading of Elevating Construction Foreman with the section on Takt steering and control, which shows how a crew leader keeps a train of trades flowing through zones. He covers Little's Law, the purpose of a Takt plan, and why Brooks' Law and the kinked hose analogy argue for fixing the system rather than adding labor, materials, or money. He then explains the three M's (Muda, Muri, Mura), the difference between roadblocks (removed) and constraints (adjusted), and the five parts of zone control with its rules. The section marks the line between what supers focus on in strategic planning and what crew leaders focus on in Last Planner meetings.

What you'll learn in this episode:

What roadblock could you clear this week so the crew behind you has what it needs?
