Jason is back to regular episodes after finishing the Foreman book, with an update on a recent family cruise and a lesson from a project where the trade partners had grown frustrated with Takt. His insight is that they were holding a fixed mindset about the plan, as if a Takt plan meant every date would happen exactly as drawn. He explains that Takt is a nimble system: you plan, do, check, and adjust daily, protecting trade flow and building a recovery path when roadblocks or constraints show up. Using the picture of Napoleon's smaller, more nimble forces against the Austrian army's rigid plan, he argues that visual, real-time information is what lets a team adapt together.
What you'll learn in this episode:
When a delay hits your project, does your schedule help you adjust, or does it get in the way?
