Description

Jason responds to a LinkedIn conversation that asked what lean terms people misuse in construction, and clears up several of them. Lean is not cutting costs or staff, and it isn't just stickies on a wall or the Last Planner System. He restates the four pillars of lean (respect for people and resources, stability and flow, total participation with visual systems, and quality with continuous improvement) and defines Takt planning, the Last Planner System, pull planning, and Scrum in plain terms. His message is to learn the principles, put them to work in the field, and keep the focus on respecting workers and foremen instead of arguing over words.

What you'll learn in this episode:

Is your team practicing the whole system of lean, or just one or two of its tools?
