The strongest Macallan offering in terms of ABV the Classic Cut defies Macallans own self-classification, not falling in their Classic Collection and a confusing use of the word CUT in its name. So the naming and positioning is a bit strange, but how's the dram? I experiment with a precisely watered down version of my 2023 sample and review the same Scotch, at 40% ABV and then at 50% ABV as bottled side-by-side and the results might just surprise you.
