Notre-Dame Cathedral reopened Saturday after a devastating fire five years ago that brought the 860-year-old building to the brink of collapse. French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed guests including U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.

The United States marks the 83rd anniversary of the Japanese attack on the U.S. naval base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The attack on Dec. 7, 1941, killed 2,390 Americans, and the United States declared war on Japan the next day.
