November 7th is election day but in Indiana, we have no elections for 2017. So to give you some political talk today, we spoke with State Representative Ryan Hatfield. He spoke about what he does as a state rep on a daily basis when in session, his experience as a member of the minority party (70 Republican reps vs 30 Democrat reps), the process of creating a bill, the cap on how many pieces of legislation he can file a session, the importance of the speaker of the house, some upcoming legislation topics, how reps get selected to committees, getting feedback from his constituents, his power lunch spot in Indianapolis, the lack of progress of interstate 69, the lack of awareness of what is going on in Evansville with some parts of Indiana, the new casino in Evansville, and his schedule when up in Indianapolis.
