Randy Russelburg is not your ordinary name-dropper. Whether he had a few minutes or a few hours to work with celebrities, he used that time to pick their brains (so to speak) to build a business plan. That business plan became The SMArts Project. Sick of watching high school students selling other businesses products for a small fraction of funds, Randy wanted to use his connections to help students create something beautiful of their own to not only sell, but to treasure. High schools partner with celebrities to create a music CD and perform a concert. The process is closer to a small business than a fundraiser as they name it, design the logo and jacket, market the product, arrange the performance, and so on. The own it, take pride in it, profit from it, and enjoy it the rest of their lives.
