We all know that reading is incredibly important to a young child's developing brain, but I get a lot of questions from pregnant people and new parents asking, "When should I start reading to my child?" and "Why should I read to someone who really doesn't seem to notice or care that I have a book in my hands?" So, in this episode, we're going to look at a few different books that will give us some concrete answers to these questions with the science to back them up.
And tune in next week when we put what we've learned into practice and answer the obvious follow up questions, which are, of course, "How do I read to a baby?" and, the question I'm most looking forward to, "What books should I read to my newborn, brilliant, future reader?"
