If you are 50+, there's a great chance that You Light Up My Life was included on a mix tape you either gave or received! Today, we are speaking with music royalty Debby Boone!
She was born into the entertainment world, toured with her father, Pat Boone, and her family, nailed a GRAMMY on her first solo gig, and went on to have a successful singing career in pop, adult contemporary, contemporary Christian, and now swing. Heavy metal is on deck (just kidding). In between that, she has starred on television, in movies, and on Broadway. Her mother-in-law is Rosemary Clooney, and Debby now owns the scores from her that she has used to pay homage to a true superstar with an album, Reflections of Rosemary.
She will be in Annapolis on September 21st at the Rams Head On Stage to present it all, along with tales from her life and family, in a special, very intimate show!
On a personal note, I have done many of these types of interviews, and Debby was hands down the most gracious guest, by far! And, I may have wrangled a Thanksgiving dinner at the Boone household! (JF)
