Tucked away in a small business park near the Annapolis Bowl, is an oasis of sorts. There arae plenty of buds, flowers, and greenery at Thrive Dispensary.
Alex Swartz is the Retail Director for the business that also has a location in Upper Marlboro, and he gave me a tour and a lesson all about weed in 2025.
First off, to dispell any false narratives, dispensaries today are run much more professionally and securely than most other busiensses--mostly due to regulation. But today, I learned about the experience of the budtenders, the different afflictions that cannabis can help, the differences between recreational and medical, and a whole lot more.
