Description

Jen Isenhart

Jennifer is a principal and founder of Wide Eye Productions, a Northwest digital production company that's been creating successful films since 2000. Jennifer has ushered dozens of projects from concept, through production, to completion- from Emmy Award-winning documentaries, to educational children's programs, to branded entertainment. She knows how to weave images, sound and message into memorable films.

Most recently, Jennifer directed and wrote "Fat Fiction", a film about the history of the U.S. Dietary Guidelines and the miserable failure of a so-called "low fat heart healthy diet." The film is narrated by 10-Times New York Times best selling author and physician, Mark Hyman and features interviews with world class nutrition experts and science journalists. "Fat Fiction" is available to watch on Amazon Prime where more than 500 five-star reviews rank the film as one of the top nutrition documentaries on the site.

As a child, Jen always thought she had an issue with sugar.  This was especially true when she would crave sweet foods and then have hypoglycemic events. As an adult, she attended a “Quit Sugar” class where she learnt the effects of sugar on health and wellbeing. Now following a low carb way of eating, her digestion is better, no longer getting tired after meals, which she puts down to eliminating sugar and grains from her diet.

As a film producer and journalist, Jen was motivated to learn more about nutrition, dietary guidelines and their impact on poor health outcomes. She found that we didn’t get the truth about fats, in particular saturated fats and seed oils due to flawed research, corporate and personal interests.  ‘Fat Fiction’ documentary sets the record straight and is told in a clear and accessible way, something a film can do rather than another nutrition book.  The documentary shows first hand how people respond to both high and low carb diets, particularly for those living with Type 2 Diabetes.
