Now 30 years later, she reflects on the impact that her wish has had on her life, the trials and growth she’s experienced, and the importance of giving back in a meaningful way.
“To volunteer in any way shape or form is just so nurturing for the soul. You’re doing it hopefully to help so many other people but you’re getting so much back in return. You’re almost getting twice as much as you give in return. You don’t necessarily do it to make yourself feel better, but it does empower you to give more of that best part of yourself to help someone else in need.”
