America is desperate for some optimism in the fight against COVID-19, and on Monday Pfizer delivered. The pharmaceutical company’s initial COVID vaccine, developed in partnership with the BioNTech, released findings that the vaccine was 90% effective in early tests. Though more testing is needed, the news is a bright spot, and the science community is celebrating the milestone. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the US’s Infectious Disease Expert, said the news was “just extraordinary,” according to AP News.

But MarkeStcale hosts Daniel Litwin and Tyler Kern pose some critical questions about what this means for business in America. Tyler considers what this will mean for the economy as businesses see the possibility of bouncing back on the horizon, and Daniel questions, with Pfizer’s vaccine being entirely self-funded, the ethics surrounding a successful vaccine from a privately-funded pharmaceutical giant.
