Description

Delighted to share with you some information about AspirE's case study focusing on the Hong-Kong/mainland China and Portugal study case. For this episode, we welcome Isabella NG Fung-Sheung (PI - Education University of Hong Kong, China) and Sofia Gaspar (PI - University Institute of Lisbon, Portugal). You will hear from them about the investment opportunities related to the Golden Visa scheme in Portugal.

Please take note that the recording took place at a specific period of time and that the realities in Hong-Kong/China-Portugal contexts may have changed since then.

The AspirE Podcast dives into the human side of (re)migration in and to the EU. Produced as part of the 3-year Horizon Europe project AspirE ("Asian Prospects in (re)migration to/within the EU") and coordinated by Asuncion Fresnoza-Flot, Catherine Gonzalez and Frederik Ponjaert (EAst) for the Université libre de Bruxelles, the podcast explores why people decide to move—or stay—through a unique lens that is gender-aware, decolonial, and context-sensitive.

Across three series, you'll hear from researchers, experts, and aspiring (re)migrants themselves. From policy analysis to personal video diaries, AspirE examines how migration decisions are shaped by time, relationships, emotions, and systems—both in Asia and Europe.
