It was anything but the first year in business Craig and Mowgli Rivard imagined.
The owners of Little Fox in the Fox Park neighborhood of South St. Louis opened their restaurant in December 2019, their doors open just a few months before the COVID19 pandemic forced them to close. In order to survive, the couple who both worked in New York City prior to moving back to Craig's hometown, have continued to pivot and adapt.
From al fresco dining this summer to a take-out window that functions as a neighborhood wine shop, the Rivard's say each week brings a new surprise.
When they moved to St. Louis to dive into the dining scene, they created their restaurant group Postcards from BKLYN with big plans of opening multiple concepts. The plans are on hold, but not the dreams.
The need for relief for restaurants like Little Fox remains great, if you missed last week's episode, take a listen as we chat with Tara Gallina of Vicia and Winslow's Home about the Save Restaurants Act and the need for Congress to ensure neighborhood restaurants survive.
