Description

On this episode of the Voices of Reason Podcast, Amy Donaldson and Jasen Lee discuss myths about sexual assault victims and why some victims don’t report their experiences. Joining us are Bethany Warr, an attorney with the Utah Crime Victims Legal Clinic and her client Brieanne Van De Graaff.

When many people, mostly women, become victims of sexual violence or sexual harassment, they are often stunned to find themselves in such a powerless situation. There is also the feeling of shame that frequently prevents them from coming forward. During our discussion, Brieanne courageously describes her circumstance and how she is fighting back against a criminal justice system that strongly favors the accused over alleged victims. Her attorney Bethany has become her biggest advocate and explains why victims who take a stand can make a difference.
