Description

On this episode of the Voices of Reason podcast, Jasen Lee and Amy Donaldson are talking about some of the sensitive and important issues facing young people these days with Melissa Adams, Community Outreach Specialist with the FBI’s Salt Lake City regional office. Ms. Adams has organized a daylong Youth Symposium for Saturday, March 25 at West High School in Salt Lake City. Among the many important topics being addressed at the event — human sex trafficking, sextortion, suicide prevention, opiate abuse and cyber crimes.

Despite being technologically advanced compared to previous generations, young people still can fall prey to dangers lurking online. The one-day event aims to provide students with knowledge and resources to help in case of trouble and how to watch for signs of possible exploitation as well as address the growing crisis surrounding opioid abuse that has struck the younger generation especially hard.

The event runs 9am - 4:30pm and is free to student with a signed consent form from any Wasatch Front area high school. The keynote speaker will be activist and model Kadi Correia.
