Congress offered a standing ovation to Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise, who returned to the House of Representatives for the first time since being shot at a Congressional Republican baseball practice in June. He thanked those whose quick response, he says, saved his life, including a fellow member of Congress who happens to be a doctor, US Capitol Police and his security detail.
