74 million Americans were grilling on the 4th. We grilled Burgers (85%), Steaks (80%), Hot Dogs (79%), and Chicken (73%). 150 million Hot Dogs were consumed (that’s what we had). Most of them came from Iowa! Americans only bought 190 million pounds of red meat or Pork for the 4th. Most of these were produced in Texas, Nebraska, or Kansas. 750 million pounds of Chicken is purchased leading up to the 4th. That Chicken most likely came from Georgia, Arkansas, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, or Texas. 5% of all a year's beer consumption happens on the 4th, which is about 68.3 million cases of beer! Corn, potatoes, and other veggies are the most popular side dishes.
