Here's the story of my friend Stan...
We've known each other since we were 16-17 years old.
We played high school football together, hung out during our college years, and then our lives took their turns...as is wont to happen in every life.
He went into the Air Force and ended up at Ramstein AF Base, in Ramstein-Miesenbach, Germany.
He played football for the base team, until he turned his focus towards boxing.
He became the heavyweight champion.
When he returned to the USA he settled in Las Vegas, and worked as a bartender (in 2 different establishments), as well as a security guard.
As you'll hear in this episode, a near death experience with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (yes...it was a racial profiling against him) led him to focus solely upon bartending...
He became a part owner of a bar called Money Plays.
Money Plays was a local neighborhood bar & video gambling establishment, situated just down the street from The Palms Casino...literally.
Stan called it "...like Cheers on acid" - lol
Within a couple of years, Stan became the sole owner of Money Plays.
An experiment into the world of Live Music became a lifeline to the area's hip hop artists, and it bore a magical event...
The Black Book Sessions.
It was incredible, and it threatened his bar...because... well, you're just gonna have to listen to find out.
