Alliance City’s Money Grab
Not only does the City of Alliance, Ohio want to pass an unconstitutional ordinance, they want the housing providers to pay for it (and by extension their tenants). The city officials have admitted that it will cause rents to raise. They saw over 100 people show up in opposition at the last council meeting. They have not had a single housing provider or tenant speak up in support of the ordinance. Their newest excuse for completely ignoring the citizens they have been elected to represent is that the courts take too long. Now the legislative body wants to remove the checks & balances of the judicial system.
The city, that collects all of the money, says it is not all about money. At the same time, they decided to only do inspections every 3 years, and they will still charge us every year.
