When did Thomas Sandell first realize he wanted to become an architect?

Welcome to Arch Vox, the podcast on all things architecture. In this first episode, I sat down with Thomas Sandell, one of the most recognized Swedish architects of our time.

He moves freely between designing houses, shoes, furniture, and interiors. It may seem like a given now, but Thomas's first year at architecture school in Stockholm was far from successful.

What struck me most during our conversation was his curiosity and openness, perhaps the very qualities that make adding joy to his designs one of his signatures.

I'm Richard Feigin, editor of this podcast and founder of Super Vox. Architecture has been in my life since I was 15, when I started collecting books on the topic. I did an internship at an architecture firm at 18, and ever since, I've continued exploring this fascinating field.
