Description

In Part 1 of my conversation with Janine Allis, founder of Boost Juice, part‑owner of Retail Zoo, Shark Tank judge, author, Survivor legend, and CEO of the Business Academy we dive,  into the unexpected lessons that have shaped her life,  from what she learnt working with David Bowie (including a surreal moment alone with him on his boat!) to the mindset that helped her create Boost, long before she had any experience in business.

We explore the power of naïvety, the way we talk ourselves out of things before we even begin, and how most of the roadblocks we experience are self‑imposed. Janine opens up about why mindset not strength was what got her through Survivor, and why she believes life is about living, experiences and “spikes.”

She also shares her simple but powerful approach to marketing: be different rather than better. Know your audience, know your category, and know your archetype, the personality of your brand, then communicate from that place with clarity and confidence.

From friends reinventing their careers at any age, her own preparation for Survivor, to the influence her husband Jeff has had on her journey, Janine brings so much grounded wisdom, humour and honesty to this episode.

This is a conversation about mindset, courage, and backing yourself, even when you don’t have all the answers.
