As a single mom, you have a lot on your plate - kids, a job, housework, finances, and so much more. It can be exhausting.
You may cry out to God and anyone else who will listen!
You may feel ignored or overlooked.
You may wonder if God sees all the work you do.
You may wonder if anyone appreciates you and your sacrifices.
In today's Gospel reflection, Martha seems to understand how you feel. She cries out to Jesus hoping He will see how all the work has been left to her and make Mary, her sister, pitch in and help out.
Instead, Jesus tells Martha that Mary chose the better path.
In nicer wording, Jesus tells Martha to get her priorities straight.
When you're exhausted and stressed and overwhelmed, it's easy to get frustrated and want someone to pitch in and help out.
But God doesn't always send help or accolades.
Instead, He tells you to prioritize. Jesus knows by prioritizing what (or who!) is most important will help you eliminate overwhelm and create a life of peace.
If you could benefit from help prioritizing so you can eliminate overwhelm and design a life you love with your kids, email me for coaching at Kerri@SingleMomSmiling.com
