Decolonization, Assimilation, Acculturation, Adulteration

Native people. Indigenous. Onkwehonwe, the original people of this continent.

As we clamber out of the rubble of History and settler colonialism we reach out for that bright future ahead of us. As tomorrow's elders and the next day's ancestors we create the future.

The choices of today determine whether our communities and cultures survive and thrive, or wither away into nothing.

Niche as hell? Absolutely.  However, many people on this bright blue marble share the same challenges, and just might glean a nugget of truth, an ember of an idea, and spread that flame.

So, What Are YOU?

“Pretendian”: a recent addition to our modern lexicon. This indigenously hilarious portmanteau describes the cliched claim of indian.

For our episode today, your hosts delve into this discussion with their wandering candor, looking like two of the most disappointing medicine men to arrive at the drumming circle, here to define Indigeneity. Not really, but they're going to talk about that crazy little thing called Identity.
