Jesus of Nazareth claimed to be the Son of God and promised all who believe in him eternal life. For those claims, he was betrayed, crucified, killed, and buried by the very people he came to save. Then something unexpected happened: Three days later, his tomb was found empty. This fact created confusion for his disciples in their predawn discovery as they wrestled with what this might mean. Two thousand years later, we too must respond to this fact. Thankfully, the resurrected Jesus appears to tell us exactly what it means: He is risen. Death is defeated. The dawn has come at last.
