Description

Hurrah a holiday special! Katharine and Seth are joined today by their friend Reneé Moss, a fellow mama bear and Waldorf-trained educator to discuss things that go bump in the night. Reneé shares a brief history of Halloween from the Celtic ritual of Samhain to today’s less sacred candy-scare-fest. All three share their childhood memories of Halloween and how the 80’s and 90’s just felt simpler (is it just us?!). They also discuss their concerns with where the holiday has gone over the past two decades and the ways in which the holiday feels less kid-friendly. They talk about challenging parenting moments from endless candy to trying to protect their children from the scary, the sexy, and the deranged. We hope you enjoyed this episode and please let us know your thoughts on Halloween!
