Leadership is about way more than your job description. In today's episode, Executive Leadership Coach Sarah Francescutti gives you the low down on acting up (for the role you want).

1. No more back room behavior like having a bad attitude, gossiping or complaining.
2. Reverse engineer your career path. Be proactive in seeking the training or skills you need and invest in yourself.
3. Expand your capacity to receive opportunities. You need to build up experiences and wisdom to lead with empathy and effectiveness.
4. Technical expertise is no substitute for people skills.
5. Leadership can be lopsided. Because no one is good at everything, focus on building up your strengths and working with others who have skills to offset your weaknesses.
6. Authenticity trumps all. People respond to the real you not a polished "shell" person with whom they cannot relate.
