Today I break down nutrition to make it very simple. The analogy that I give is is:
If you don' know how to ride a bike but you all of a sudden have this urge to ride downhill MTB. It would be like not knowing how to ride and then signing up for a downhill race in the first 3 months. It's ridiculous.
SOOOO often I see moms want to lose the baby weight and their motivation is at an all time high and they take on too much too soon.
For any goal - whether that be weight loss, body recomposition, performance - a step by step approach for how to tackle nutrition to support you.
It goes like this:
1. Data collecting
2. Calorie tracking only
3. Calorie tracking and protein
4. Calorie tracking + protein and MAYBE carbs/fats
I will break down specific performance based goals and how that applies to nutrition on a later podcast.
For now, I hope this simple approach helps you take a more realistic mindset towards the actions you need to take to move the needle in the right direction.
