Der ägyptische Schrifsteller unterstützte den Friedensprozess zwischen Israel und Ägypten und wurde 1994 Opfer eines Messerattentates. Das Gespräch wurde nach dem Attentat mit Naguib Machfouz auf Arabisch geführt und ist ein seltene Aufnahme und ein historisches Zeitdokument.

The Egyptian writer supported the peace process between Israel and Egypt and was the victim of a knife attack in 1994. The conversation with Naguib Machfouz after the attack was conducted in Arabic and is a rare recording and a historical document of the time.
