When the Aunty Sochelle Hour-ish show first began recording, about March, 2025., no one heard of us, and no one knew what we were up to. Our team, (Dolly, Fred, Tanya, Mila, Harley, Jen and Muhammad) didn't really exist. It was two people, trying to get a show others might like seeing. Our very first guest for that show was Baldur's Gate 3 voice actor Dave Jones, (Halsin, the Druid man-bear). He was BRILLIANT and it's still one of our favorite guests on any of our 80 episodes. WHY are we talking about Dave? During his visit, we surprised him with his game vox co-stars, Neil Newbon, Samantha Béart and this week's guest, Mr. Tim Downie.
Now, in 2026, we start a new season of the show, and who better to help launch us than the guy who had us laughing from the get-go, Tim Downie. He is sharply funny and knows more about more things than just about anyone. In fact, if it weren't for a liquor ad making the claim to someone else, Tim would be the most interesting man in the world. Join Aunty as she chats with Tim about his upcoming book release, Rituals- A Folk Journey Through the British Isles, (October 26, 2026). He chats on Gale, his companion character that truly changed his life, from Baldurs Gate 3. We talk about his career on tv and film in such things as Good Omens, Outlander, Geek Girl, Paddington, and even his work with Matt Berry in Toast of London, and David Mitchell in Upstart Crow. He also is a shining example of great parenting- showing his daughters how to live a life in service to others, and how to make a great birthday cake. Aunty adores Tim and she hopes you do, too!
