In this episode, we read the creation story from an English translation of the Bible that does not contain a patriarchal bias in this passage. We then discuss the use of male-centered (androcentric) language in the English Standard Version, or ESV. We highlight patriarchal bias in Bible commentary, beginning in the 4th century AD, and conclude by summarizing God's beautiful creation of the world and humankind--male and female--in God's image.
