Episode 282 of Beer, Blues, and BS delivers ultramarathon ambitions, college ghost documentaries, and hilarious retro media throwbacks!
Howard Blues kicks off September by announcing a 250-mile walking treadmill challenge over two months, paving the way for a nostalgia-heavy deep dive into past creative projects. The crew uncovers the lore of "Undarh"—a massive green monster mascot from their college residence hall days—and recalls their UND campus ghost stories documentary, including a late-night research trip to the Chester Fritz Library's notorious "ghost file."
Over at the bar, the taste tests cover everything from Doc’s sweet Jack Daniel's Blackberry and ginger ale twist to Mark Kidder’s imported Korean pear ale with a bizarre label translation. Plus, Brother Niko joins with a mason jar of Lincoln tap water, LCL Geek brings an oversized 3D-printed Lego man, JS drinks shop-machine filtered water, and the team officially welcomes new guest Mike Tango (aka "Metal Thrasher") to the mix.
Finally, Mark shares highlights from his 3-hour live storm-tracking stint filling in at Hutch’s Weather, and Doc breaks news on guest-conducting the spring Allstate Choir in North Dakota!
