Today we are going to be talking about the intersection of attachment and racial identity, exploring some of the ways that current models of romantic attachment reflect Eurocentric standards, as well as ways we can adapt couples’ work to be responsive to straight BIPOC couples experiences of racism and inequity.

Dimica Lawrence, MSW, LCSW is currently in private practice in North Carolina. She received her Master of Social Work-Advanced Standing Program from North Carolina State University in 2018 and has worked in community-based and private practice settings with Adolescents with Severe Emotional Disturbances, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual and Developmental Disorders, Juveniles, couples and families.
