A college coach…scratch that…a coach who knows a lot about bowling from a nationally-ranked program says it would not be a surprise if he gets the buy-in he needs for a somewhat new, different format of intercollegiate competition to gain some traction.
Mark Jeffreys of Southern Nazarene University isn’t taking all the credit for three-period format he’s about to describe to you. He said it originated from a student-athlete.
What he’s proposing is head-to-head matches between two teams, complete with a scoreboard, a new livestreaming network and the goal of 64 teams qualifying for a bracket that leads to a national championship, like college basketball.
