The strangest decision of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, to my mind, is timing - why didn't Putin delay until he could massively impact the US midterm elections in favor of the Republicans instead of now when he will probably be helping Biden. Also, for years, supporters of the state Israel have claimed the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement is wrong and doesn't work - yet with Ukraine those same people very much think it does and why it wont work in Ukraine now.
