Description

Jerry considers himself a first-generation cattle rancher who has been involved in the cattle industry for most of his life despite not having a college education. His career began in local sale barns, and he currently works as a livestock order buyer and focuses on red Angus cattle.

 

Jerry is organizing an upcoming sale of 46 red Angus bulls taking place at Faith Livestock in Faith, South Dakota. The event time zone is Mountain Time and it happens on February 28th. In addition to the red Angus, the sale will include red Angus Influence and half-blood Fleck V cattle known for good performance and longevity.

 

Jerry emphasizes the importance of maternal qualities and foot quality in breeding red Angus cattle. He uses a mix of Canadian and American genetics to improve specific traits like length of body and additional weight. He recently invested significantly in herd bulls to enhance his breeding program.
