Welcome to Cool Hand Crypto, where Cinema, Culture and Crypto collide!

In this episode of Cool Hand Crypto, Matt speaks with filmmaker Trevor Hawkins about his feature directorial debut, Lotawana. Matt and Trevor discuss the writing process, casting Lotawana, film production, post production, selling the film as an NFT, the legal hurdles faced when doing so, among other topics.

Trevor Hawkins’s unique aesthetic and appetite for cinema, wildlife and adventure have earned him an EMMY, three Vimeo Staff-Picks, the title “Exceptional Filmmaker” from National Geographic and worldwide acclaim throughout the film, television, magazine and commercial industries.

Hawkins wore many hats on his first, full-length, feature film, Lotawana, including writer, director, cinematographer, editor and colorist and is currently in-development of his next feature film. In 2012 he was hired by the President of Rwanda to create a film rebranding Rwanda’s image to the rest of the world. And although not a hunter himself, Hawkins is widely acknowledged for dramatically reforming the creative and story-telling standards of the hunting television industry with the hit show, Heartland Bowhunter.

Hawkins founded the production company, MAMMOTH, in 2010. RW2 represents his commercial work and FilmSupply represents his licensing. Beyond feature films and commercials, he creates documentaries, tourism and wildlife videos, TV shows and photography. He’s a life-long resident of Lake Lotawana, MO and can be found sailing, rehabilitating wildlife, wakeboarding and “gettin wet ‘n wild with the other lake rats.”
