What a tremendous gift God has given us, in regards to the marriage covenant, so we humans can flourish on this earth.
Marriage (that is the biblical ideal for marriage), was instituted by God (Yahweh Elohim), and is one of the main pillars that hold up human civilization, and therefore is critical for human flourishing. Anytime something that God has instituted and is in any way manipulated, the end result is always disastrous.
So we need to ask ourselves. How exactly is marriage supposed to be defined? A relevant question especially in a society that tries to redefine how it has been understood for millennia. What are the roles of those who step into the marriage covenant? These are important question, and I want to answer them through the lenses of Scripture.
