Matthew 24:37 states " As it was in the times of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man".
When Christians today read this verse many often think of genetic abominations, hybrid creatures and the Nephilim. Our minds instantly conjure up the most horrific monstrosities imaginable, creatures and entities reminiscent of the days of Noah. But what if it's something smaller that we should be concerned about? Something naked to the human eye.
The unchecked tinkering with humanities food chain through genetic manipulations and creation of synthetic life in the form of microorganisms presents a nightmarish risk to unravel our ecosystems and subvert Gods creation at a micro level. Imagine genetically modified plants cross pollinating with native flora, decimating natural production, creating diseases and impacting wildlife. The ecological potential for collapse cannot be ignored. Engineered man-made food from CRISPR edited crops presents us with greater risks, as the old saying goes "you are what you eat". We are turning the most intimate daily act of eating into an uncontrolled multi-generational experiment.
So many of us envision the end times producing demonic entities and genetic hydras, perhaps we should be thinking about what is on our plate and in our soil?
