Who Was Errol Thompson?
Errol "ET" Thompson (1948–2004) was a pioneering Jamaican recording engineer and producer who significantly influenced the sound of reggae and dub from the late 1960s to the 1980s. Known for his sharp ear, technical mastery, and understated brilliance, Thompson was one of the first engineers in Jamaica to experiment with dub mixing, reverb, and delay, long before it became a global sound.
