In the early 1990's MTV played the videos for Rave Down, Son of Mustang Sam and Duel amongst other songs from Swervedriver. The band began in Oxford, England after the disbanding of Shake Appeal. They releases a few EP's and eventually Raise was thrust upon the ears of the world in all their whammy-barred, minor chord guitars , buried vocals and alternating driving and slow build atmospheric rock and roll glory. You can read all about the band on wikipedia and see their videos, live footage of them through the years and read interviews with the band. But to me they meant hope for the world, hope for the future, poetic lyrics sang with passion while buzzing distortion and energy with a wild rhythm section banged away filling my gas tank with fuel.
So enjoy over three hours of Swervedriver, music from singer Adam Franklin and his solo works and guest appearances, plus plenty of live renditions and covers of and by the band.
