This week is the first of two episodes about Soon Only The Ocean, a game about climate change and rising sea levels. The game’s unusual format prompts a discussion about game mechanics like permadeath and real-time gameplay, as well as the difficulty of representing a topic as big as climate change. We’ll revisit the game in May after it has come to its conclusion.
